Vino Divino Presents

Fellow Feeling, refers to empathy, shared emotion, and connection—a sense of mutual understanding or solidarity between people. A night dedicated to the joy of pairing—on the plate, in the glass, and between people. We’ll explore iconic culinary duos, from Cabernet & steak to more playful twists that highlight what makes partnerships so powerful—contrast, balance, and a bit of spark.

This event is presented in collaboration with Cool Beans, and features visual art from:

  • October Sharify
  • Cherry Tung

What’s On the Menu:
This night of pairing classics will unfold over multiple tasting courses, each celebrating a great food & wine duo. Expect thoughtfully prepared bites that explore:

  • Traditional icons like Cabernet and steak
  • Playful contrasts to be surprised and entertained
  • A sweet ending that lets bubbles and dessert shine together

Every dish will be created with in-season ingredients, and each pairing will highlight how food and wine bring out the best in each other. As always, there will be plenty of food, so come hungry!

What You’ll Drink
We’ll explore how certain wines are made to pair—whether through bold tannins, bright acidity, or careful blending. You’ll enjoy a lineup that includes:

  • Classic red wines like Cabernet Sauvignon and Rioja, built for richness and depth
  • Lively whites like Chenin Blanc, meant to refresh and surprise
  • Sparkling wine to celebrate contrast, cut richness, and close the night with energy

Whether you’re a wine nerd or just along for the vibes, you’ll walk away with a deeper appreciation of how pairing is both an art and a feeling.

About the Artists
This evening will be attended by two Chicago-based artists. Both known for their evocative, emotionally resonant work that explores identity, color, and inner life. Their styles differ, but their shared focus on connection, intuition, and emotional resonance makes them the perfect artistic duo for this night of pairing.

Cherry Tung is a Hong Kong-born interdisciplinary artist currently based in Chicago. She earned her MFA from SAIC Chicago in 2023 and holds a BA in Fine Arts from the University of Hong Kong. Cherry’s work delves into themes of power dynamics, identity, and the intersection of Eastern and Western cultures. Utilizing delicate materials like silk and porcelain, she creates paintings and sculptures that juxtapose beauty with underlying tensions. Her recent series explores taxidermy displays in natural history museums, using traditional Chinese Gongbi techniques to question constructed narratives and artificiality. Cherry has exhibited in venues across Hong Kong and the United States, including the SAIC Galleries and the Chinese University of Hong Kong. She is a recipient of the 2023 Luminarts Visual Art Fellowship and the 2024 Emerging Art Development Grant from the Hong Kong Art Development Council.

October is a 25 year old oil painter based in Chicago, Illinois. Their work tends to be high contrast, surreal, and chromatic, using artificially sweet pinks and dark blues. Their longtime interest in history and theology blends in their work with feminine aesthetics and spiritual imagery. They have an African American and Persian cultural background, and often turns to the visual language of their respective culture’s past for inspiration
