About The Event

Vino Divino Presents

Room to Run is a celebration of nostalgia, memory, and the quiet spaces we once took for granted. Inspired by the childhood summers of our six exhibiting artists, this night transforms personal stories into a nine-course tasting menu.

From fermented tomatoes with burrata and smoked olive oil to wood-fired roasted red peppers with truffled, slow-cooked egg, the menu is rooted in the early September Midwest harvests, layered with the flavors of fire, fruit, and field.

The evening features three photographers, one painter, and a live folk-rock band, creating an immersive experience where scent, taste, sound, and memory intertwine.

Wine Pairings

What You'll Drink

Sometimes there are moments in our childhood that are marked by a scent or a taste. Tasting those things again is a powerful way to get transported back to that moment.

In Room to Run, every wine is chosen for a single, unmistakable note on the nose — the kind of scent you recognize instantly, even before you take a sip.

We will start with a welcome cocktail, followed by 9 wines. You can choose to spit if it is too much, or enjoy them to the fullest. If one glass is not enough for you, more might be available. We’ll end the night at Vino Divino After Dark with a coffee and Kalimotxo (wine and coke).

The Art

About The Artists

Cebe Loomis
Cebe Loomis is a practicing visual artist and social documentarian based in Chicago, Illinois. Through analogue photography, Loomis creates colorful, intimate, and methodical bodies of work exploring themes of belonging, history, and home. Specializing in the photographic essay, Loomis' research interests include place-making practices, cultural geography, collective memory formation, and visual anthropology. In addition to her personal practice, Loomis is a cofounder of Candid Fare, a Chicago local platform that offers unique experiences surrounding people's food memories and histories. Candid Fare hosts salon dinners and spearheads an ongoing social-documentary project asking people to "Tell us a food story."

Natalie Pivoney
Natalie Pivoney is a contemporary oil painter, curator, educator, and co-op member of Purple Window Gallery in Chicago, IL. Her work nostalgically captures Midwestern life, bar scenes, campus culture, and cluttered apartments through colorful, illusionistic oil paintings. She has worked as an arts educator at the college and elementary levels, has juried and curated multiple exhibitions, been featured in multiple arts publications, and served as president for the Graduate Arts Association while at NIU. Pivoney has completed artist residencies in Galesburg, Illinois and Paonia, Colorado; won 1st place in the 2017 Imprints of the Mind exhibition at Dittmar Gallery, and won Juror’s Choice Award in the 2018 Ars Nova exhibition at the Jack Olson Gallery.

Jacob Perry
Jacob Perry is a photographer whose dreamy, cinematic images explore the emotional texture of everyday life. Working from Chicago and beyond, Perry documents surreal moments through a painterly lens, glowing traffic lights, misty landscapes, and solitary figures in shadow. His work blurs memory and observation, turning familiar scenes into meditations on place, time, and longing.

Maclovio (Mac) Orozco
My name is Maclovio (Mac) Orozco and I am a Chicago based film photographer. My overall work highlights joy, injustice, and the wild world we live in. Capturing moments at street level is what I bring to my audience. The series you see today is done by "souping" film. The film was soaked in malbec wine and Dawn dish soap before being developed. Combining street photography with an experimental analog technique, what you see is the effect of Souped Film.

Katie Belle and the Belle Rangers

When the moon is full and the hour is late, carnival sounds of Katie Belle and the Belle Rangers can be heard flowing down the Illinois and Fox rivers. Stomp your feet to a sound that’s equal parts outlaw country and heavy metal. Maybe you’ll stay long enough to get drawn into the tales; little short stories with many layers of meaning and a touch of madness. Listen Here!

AfterParty - Vino Divino After Dark

Once the tasting wraps, stick around! We’ll dim the lights, turn up the music, and open up the space for more casual mingling, a few extra pours, and a chance to meet new friends.
